Ok, so it's the 28th June - that's almost halfway through the year! So as with desperation to do this early I'm gonna run down what has been my favourite stuffs of this year so far. Do I care?
Nahh.
Top 20 Albums of the Year (cos The Kooks were no.21 - sorry. Plus I haven't heard The Subways, Laura Marling or Paul Weller yet or enough - can't qualify):
20: Foals - Antidotes
19: R.E.M - Accelerate
18: Feeder - Silent Cry
17: Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles
16: Does It Offend You, Yeah? - You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into

3: Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly - Searching For The Hows And Whys
2: Flight Of The Conchords - Flight Of The Conchords
1: We Are Scientists - Brain Thrust Mastery
Mainly cos We Are Scientists have ruled this year. I LOVE THAT album. Flight Of The Conchords are on that list cos it's another great album, espeially for a comedy album. It's all about visuals. The Futureheads returned to form, MGMT surprised and is this years innovative answer to what Enter Shikari did last year for me. Mystery Jets put a smile back on everyone's faces. Pendulum were fun, Guillemots disappointed by creating a very off-their-track album but wasn't TOO bad I guess. Further down, Coldplay changed but solidly (is that a word?), another band to disappoint me this week especially were Sigur Rós, who chose to bring in a producer on album number 5 and changed everything (incuding dropping the bands signature reverb sound). Lightspeed Champion started off the year with what I thought to be one of the best albums, until everything else came along. Even Feeder made their best album since Echo Park!
Now, Top 35 tracks of the year (cos I couldn't wittle it down to 20)?
35: We Are Scientists - Ghouls
34: Sigur Rós - Vid Spilum Endalaust
33: Pendulum - Mutiny
32: We Are Scientists - Lethal Enforcer
31: Portishead - Machine Gun

10: Boy Kill Boy - Rosie's On Fire
9: Pendulum - Showdown
8: Late Of The Pier - Focker
7: The Subways - Girls And Boys
6: The Futureheads - Sale Of The Century
5: Coldplay - Violet Hill
4: Boy Kill Boy - Promises
3: Pendulum - Propane Nightmares
2: Mystery Jets - Two Doors Down
1: We Are Scientists - Chick Lit
Two songs owned this half of the year so far - We Are Scientists continued their streak of great consistant track and pulled Chick Lit out of the bag, and Mystery Jets made the upbeat wonder that put the cherry on the top of Twenty One. Late Of The Pier made two of the best dance-indie-trip-over-hop ever, Pendulum changed, but it worked, Coldplay's beautiful Violet Hill has some of Martin's best lyrics since Parachutes, and The Subways went where even they hadn't expected to go until 'the split' - darker. And you really do need to applaud The Kooks - that track was brillllliant!
Best TV Shows this year (mostly comedy):
8: Family Guy
7: Gordon Ramsay's F Word
6: Have I Got News For You
5: Gavin And Stacey
4: Top Gear
3: The Inbetweeners
2: Peep Show
1: The Office: And American Workplace
Gotta love the awkward comedy :)
So That's it. Oh best film? I dunno, what's been funny this year?
Can't honestly remember :/
much love xx
