I thank the 2nd follower, whoever you are. How did you find this!?!?

Anywho, it's halfway through the year, therefore it's boring time, for me to list my top 15 albums and top 20 songs of the year so far. Here goes

Songs:
20: Bloc Party - One More Chance
19: Placebo - Kitty Litter
18: Marmaduke Duke - Silhouettes
17: The Rakes - 1989
16: Maximo Park - Tanned
15: Fightstar - Give Me The Sky
14: Passion Pit - Sleepyhead
13: White Lies - Farewell To The Fairground
12: La Roux - In For The Kill (Skream Let's Get Ravey Mix)
11: Patrick Wolf - Battle
10: Fightstar - Never Change
9: The Joy Formidable - Whirring
8: Placebo - Julien
7: Passion Pit - Smile Upon Me
6: Maximo Park - Calm
5: Placebo - Battle For The Sun
4: Franz Ferdinand - Lucid Dreams
3: Fightstar - Chemical Blood
2: Passion Pit - To Kingdom Come
1: Placebo - Breathe Underwater

and the Albums:
15: Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz!
14: Paulo Nutini - Sunny Side Up
13: The Rakes - Klang!
12: The Lonely Island - Incredibad
11: The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die
10: White Lies - To Lose My Life
9: Jack Penate - Everything Is New
8: The Joy Formidable - A Balloon Called Moaning
7: Franz Ferdinand - Tonight: Franz Ferdinand
6: Passion Pit - Manners
5: Marmaduke Duke - Duke Pandemonium
4: Patrick Wolf - The Bachelor
3: Maximo Park - Quicken The Heart
2: Fightstar - Be Human
1: Placebo - Battle For The Sun

Anyway, that out of the way, it's been a busy ages! Had lots of time with not much to do. At one point I watched Garfield The Movie, which is alright but was more fun 5 years ago. I'm looking forward (a bit) to watching Bad Biology (Look up the trailer outside of Youtube - it's too, err, weird for there).

Other stuff? Well I voted in the Euro elections last month, in case you were wondering. If you want to know what I voted for, then I shall tell. I voted Independant in Brading (not UKIP - just Independant candidates) as one of the people is called Jonathan Bacon, and I liked the idea of 'Bacon for Brading'. He got in! I voted Labour in the main Euro's.

And here's why:

Now I'm no real politically estute person, but I know that Labour are the furthest left of the 3 mains. Not voting UKIP or the fascists. Not voting Green (even though that seemed a very popular vote) and I didn't want to have my first time to be for The Roman Party (Ave!) so it was Labour. I don't want Conservative power; it's principles aren't in line with mine. Here's how I vote: the bigger the frown on Bill O'Reilly's face, the better. The less smug David Cameron is, the better. So smugface, feck off. It's my vote, I can vote for your version of 'change' if youwant me to, but I'm not gonna, so take your inbred middle-class issues and stick them up your own arse.

Another reason i voted Labour is because it was clear where BNP were gaining power from: where Labour were losing it. In the north they gained 2 seats. How can they get any say in Europe if they don't even wanna be there? They can feck off too, nazi-twats.

Other stuff: Err, not much has been happening at all. I'll come back when stuff is xx

June 4th

OK, so I've voted, and I'm not bothered about withholding it so I voted Labour. Well, I say that, nothing really made any sense, but they used up some valuable millimetres of banner on listing wars such as D-Day, Somme, Dunkirk and The Falklands. DId we not run from Dunkirk? Did we not lose more men during The Somme? And more importantly, is it even important? Currently on racist terms, it was up there with the grandad in Hey, Arnold! and his hate of Canada.

Point 2: "...it's not wrong to be against mass immigration and political correctness." - y'see, I do kinda think there is a certain amount of 'wrong-iety' about that. Remember when your BNP member of parliament in Europe joined in the recommendation that before a music gig there should be signs on the door suggesting what colour and ethnic background of people are most likely to be at the gig? So, that's fine? Sure, let them rock out, what does it matter... oh right, BE A FUCKING PERSON! How ridiculous is that? If that's called going against political correctness you can't feck off further, you neo-nazi leans-more-right-than-a-man-whose-right-leg-is-missing nut.

Trois: Did anyone see Have I Got News For You this week? I would research it on the net, being on here an' all, but BNP leader Nick Griffin was quoted as saying the Holocaust was 'The Holohoax'. This guy could run Britain!?!?! Feck! The guy even looks a bit Hitler, just saying...

Four: I went on their website today, out of pure interest to see how hideous this lot are, and here we go - I found their policies page:

Foreign Aid: "We reject the idea that Britain must forever be obliged to subsidise the incompetence and corruption of Third World states by supplying them with financial aid.
We will link foreign aid with our voluntary resettlement policy, whereby those nations taking significant numbers of people back to their homelands will need cash to help absorb those returning."

To sum up: What? Foreigners, 'aving our money t' feed themselves an' that shit? Nah, fuck 'em, unless they want their lot who live 'ere back, they don' get a faaackin' penny.

After reading about this 'voluntary resettlement' thing in this, I went to look that up on the site under the 'immigration' policy to find out more...

Immigration: "To ensure that the British people retain their homeland and identity, we call for an immediate halt to all further immigration, the immediate deportation of criminal and illegal immigrants, and the introduction of a system of voluntary resettlement whereby those immigrants who are legally here will be afforded the opportunity to return to their lands of ethnic origin assisted by a generous financial incentives both for individuals and for the countries in question."

To sum up: What, you wanna come in for a while? Fack off, country's shut. Unless foreigners wanna leave, in which case we'll pay yer, just get outta here.

To sum up further: Twats. They would actually pay for a 'voluntary resettlement' scheme, which gives foreign associtates of Great Britain money ( a fee not settled as yet, expect it to be pennies) to leave the country. How 'voluntary' would this be? What angers me most is that I have friends who come under this band who would be given the chance to 'voluntarily' leave. Which sort of fuckwit does it take to say that? This can't be real!

Having now looked through this, I want to finally see today this 'youth movement' they are talking about.

The Youth British National Party: Sorry one sec, before we reach that I've just found that the Isle of Wight has an 80-year old BNP candidate in 'Lake South' (as if it's big enough to be split in two...), if they get in next week it's not good news. :

Anyway, back to The Youth British National Party: Ok, all I can find at first is a long report of a camping trip, but I'll take a snippet:

"During the journey we discovered that some of the children had never climbed a tree. The other youth leader and I looked at each other incredulously and were thus resolved to find a good sturdy climbing tree before the day was out. The children climbed and climbed, with our flag flying proudly over the smallest child’s shoulder. It was a sight that made my heart leap with joy. No X-box, no mobile phones (apart from the emergency one obviously) no rap music, just wholesome, patriotic childhood experience. It was wonderful."

Problems with that:

1) It's just 'xbox', twat.

2) 'no rap music' - !?!?!?! Words can't describe...

3) 'just wholesome, patriotic childhood experience' - How is climbing a tree patriotic!?!?! They really are scraping the barrel here...

Some more: Just to get a real opinion of what the preach is to the 'youth', look at http://www.ybnp.blogspot.com/ - not that I condone anything on the website, it's fucking unreal. Post titles include 'Muslim Jesus' where he says he is "opposed to the Islam of Britain", but also, trying to talk to kids, there one point where he talks about 'playing with yourself'.

Yeah, Kids!

They go on about everything on their website, two notable twat-moments: "The Olympics should forever be handed back to Athens..." and, whilst talking about the future of London culture: "NO MORE MOSQUES".

I'm hungry and going for lunch, but hope I made some sort of impact of how this is just a scum group. Down the BNP, down the fascist regime and down it's attempt to take LAKE SOUTH! Ok maybe not so serious that last bit, it's Lake, what else could go wrong?

On a lighter note, listening to the new Maximo Park album and liking what I'm hearing! x

Charlie Brooker's Newswipe

One final thing - THE BROOKER IS BACK!

Wednesday - 10pm - BBC4

x

It's been aaaaages LOLZ

twitter.com/kierenisboring

Right, thats the plug over. They deserved it. But I'm kinda glad Alexandra won; I wouldn't wanna go against JLS.

This week has seen Alexandra Burke (A Burke, for short) end up as being force-released as the latest singer of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah (collective known as Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah.)

I say that, as it's murder on many levels. I could go on for a while over this, but it's simple - Jeff Buckley for number one. It won't happen, it won't I know this, but I'd rather give it a go than give up. Go on iTunes, 7Digital, HMV, anywhere but Amazon to download this, it's more necessary than life.

This is the most powerful song ever. Well, here's my go at the albums (songs to come later.) I'm guessing no other albums of great significance are going to be released from this week so this is my final list! Let's face it, if I had looked at this list last year, I would have been very surprised that some alright bands have bought out fantastic albums, such as Kings Of Leon and The Streets. It's such a shame that the album I was most looking forward to is in the mid-20's, and was altogether disappointing. The Futureheads came back from a poor second album, and Get Cape is still brilliant. And hey, even a comedy album made it in there! But it was so very close between the top 2 in the end.

50: Dan Le Sac vs Scroobious Pip - Angles
49: Nine Inch Nails - The Slip
48: These New Puritans - Beat Pyramid
47: Portishead - Third
46: Iamerror - Trout Yogurt
45: Kanye West - 808's And Heartbreaks
44: Weezer - The Red Album
43: Coldplay - Prospekts March EP
42: Hotel Persona - In The Clouds
41: Conor Oberst - Conor Oberst
40: The (International) Noise Conspiracy - The Cross Of My Calling
39: Feeder - Miss You
38: The Pigeon Detectives - Emergency
37: Laura Marling - Alas, I Cannot Swim
36: Death Cab For Cutie - Narrow Stairs
35: The Last Shadow Puppets - The Age Of The Understatement
34: R.E.M - Accelerate
33: Foals - Antidotes
32: The Kooks - Konk
31: Razorlight - Slipway Fires
30: Friendly Fires - Friendly Fires
29: Snow Patrol - One Hundred Million Suns
28: Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles
27: Funeral For A Friend - Memory And Humanity
26: Does It Offend You, Yeah? - You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into
25: Rolo Tomassi - Hysterics
24: Sigur Rós - Med Sud Í Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust
23: Lightspeed Champion - Falling Off The Lavendar Bridge
22: Coldplay - Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends
21: The Raconteurs - Consolers Of The Lonely
20: Hadouken! - Music For An Accelerated Culture
19: The Killers - Day And Age
18: Be Your Own Pet - Get Awkward
17: N.E.R.D - Seeing Sounds
16: Scars On Broadway - Scars On Broadway
15: Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid
14: Guillemots - Red
13: The Subways - All Or Nothing
12: Kings Of Leon - Only By The Night
11: Pendulum - In Silico
10: Boy Kill Boy - Stars And The Sea
9: Mystery Jets - Twenty-One
8: The Streets - Everything Is Borrowed
7: Late Of The Pier - Fantasy Black Channel
6: MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
5: The Futureheads - This Is Not The World
4: Get Cape. I'm 18. I would go down memorylane, but I'm not gonna bore you.

It's a big milestone. A very, very, very big milestone. I can do allsorts that I'm not overly amazed that I can do. Sure, there are the pro's (the gay sex is NOW legal) but others things I'm not too phased by. Sure, I can now buy Jimmy Carr DVD's - Not my fault I couldn't before.

There isn't much more to say. Went to London on the day to see Oedipus with Ralph Feinnes. Brilliant actor, confusing play. HE SHAGGED HIS MUM! Sorry to be so crude, but come on...

I look forward to watch the rest of the DVD's I got; Bill Bailey, Jimmy Carr, Harvey Birdman - Attorney At Law, Gavin and Stacey, it goes on. Glad to know it/sorry to hear of your loss. Today I'm gonna try and talk about the American election.

...So, Lewis Hamilton! Wasn't that the most tense ending to a race you've ever seen!?!!? Being a Formula 1 nut going on 12 years now, it was good to see another british champion in the sport, even though it only feels like yesterday I got up a 4:45am to watch Damon Hill get his championship. The nostalgia didn't really have time to return in the 200 yards between Hamilton taking Glock and the finish line, which is a shame. BUT WHAT A LAST LAP! I thought it was all over. We were saying it was all over.

Timo Glock, we love you.

Anyway this election thingy, looks good, no? Can't wait to get up on Wednesday morning to find out Barack Obama is our new American president! Jon McCain can't win; it's not fair. This can only be Barack's for the taking, and I'll be damned if I stand here doing nothing and the election is rigged again to get this sad republican man into power.

Come on Barack!

What have I been doing in the last 2 months then? Well, you should know really, or you're not a very good stalker at all. I went to see Kaiser Chiefs, and watched as Ricky Wilson came down the front and stood virtually on us on the barriers! He was great, but I was watching him to try to not watch my mate touch him up (to which, when later questioned, she said it was based on a 'see a Kaiser Chiefs, wank off a Kaiser Chief' theory).

Ain't done much really. HAMILTOOOOOOON!

Hate Kings of Leon, love the new album. What up wit' dat?

I will write more regularly, I promise. xx

Next time by...

This has been a while again. It's a shame.

So how have things been? I dunno, how have things been? Just as they start find the meaning of life I'm changing. Things are changing though. I'm a year away from Uni! UNI! Fecking hell, that's weird! I'll be luckily to see one, maybe two of the people I know now when that time comes.

All of a sudden, I'll miss everyone.

Who knows though. I came to this world with nothing, and I leave with nothing but love. Cheers, Mike Skinner!

So yeah, I still have my music. Bloc Party's just released a corker: Intimacy. The greatest of their albums. And as I say, I've owned the new Streets album approx. 50 minutes, just finished it's first play, it's a cracker. I love it.

What else do I reccommend? TV: This is a mouthful (literally) but it's the funniest thing I think I might have ever seen. Whne you were young and your parents disputed whether it's time o let you watch South Park at your age, well this would NEVER fly with them.

Rick and Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple In All Of The World is the greatest TV show I think I may have ever seen. Wednesdays, 10:30 on E4 (after Fonejacker) OR released on DVD on October 27th. I have never been in so much agony from pure laughter since I saw that youtube video where the guy parachutes into some powerlines and glow's bright blue.

Fonejacker was good too.

Rick and Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple In All Of The World - it's the future.

xx

p.s: Jack Squires has just become legendary.

Ok, that wasn't 'tomorrow'...

But it was quite close...

Anywho, I haven't wrote in a couple of weeks so lets sum up. What have I done?

Gone to London on a drama trip. Yeeeah... :/
Went to Soul Survivor. Yeeah... :
BUT I'm going to see Kaiser Chiefs in October. :)

But amongst sending ludicruous comments and messages to people of Facebook and planning Davce's next death-defying birthday present, I've been doing other things. For example, I've been watching lots of this year's olympics in Beijing. not watching it in beijing, mostly I've been watching it wrapped up in a duvet at 7am, but not in Beijing...

You gotta love the fact that we only win at the events 80% of the other countries don' go into cos they can't afford the equipment :/ For example, sailing. Now I've sailed before, I did it for the BBC last year, and whilst I wasn't battering Darren for asking the BBC PA why they're a different 'South Today' for Oxford, I was trying not to crash into Ellen MacArthur's boat, so it's a costly thing. We almost won the women's BMXing, which is a surprise because I guess you can just the all you need for that by sending someone to Crwe to nick the bi... oh.

As well as that, I've been listening to some music. Bloc Party's 'Intimacy' - the new album on download only, is the best thing I've heard all year... which wasn't made by We Are Scientists. Late of the Pier's debut is great too, if yer into that sorta thing, guv'nor.

Everyone's all of a sudden fallen in love with Dizzee Rascal. He was better without Calvin Harris.

I saw an amazing film the other day which reminded me of an excellent under-rated actor; Jason Statham. The film was Crank, btu all I can say is I need to see Mean Machine again.

So yeah, that's it for say, 18 days? Bestival soon :) Kaiser Chiefs soon :)

Nite, It's time for Tonightly! x

The Delay

I'm limited on time here at Soul Survivor, but I'll write with intent tomorrow (Saturday)

Much love and Cheesecake xxx

Halfway To The End Of The Day

Ok, so it's the 28th June - that's almost halfway through the year! So as with desperation to do this early I'm gonna run down what has been my favourite stuffs of this year so far. Do I care?

Nahh.

Top 20 Albums of the Year (cos The Kooks were no.21 - sorry. Plus I haven't heard The Subways, Laura Marling or Paul Weller yet or enough - can't qualify):

20: Foals - Antidotes
19: R.E.M - Accelerate
18: Feeder - Silent Cry
17: Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles
16: Does It Offend You, Yeah? - You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into
15: Lightspeed Champion - Falling Off The Lavender Bridge
14: Sigur Rós - Med Sud Í Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust
13: Coldplay - Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends
12: The Raconteurs - Consolers Of The Lonely
11: Be Your Own Pet - Get Awkward
10: N.E.R.D - Seeing Sounds
9: Guillemots - Red
8: Boy Kill Boy - Stars And The Sea
7: Pendulum - In Silico
6: Mystery Jets - Twenty One
5: MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
4: The Futureheads - This Is Not The World
3: Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly - Searching For The Hows And Whys
2: Flight Of The Conchords - Flight Of The Conchords
1: We Are Scientists - Brain Thrust Mastery

Mainly cos We Are Scientists have ruled this year. I LOVE THAT album. Flight Of The Conchords are on that list cos it's another great album, espeially for a comedy album. It's all about visuals. The Futureheads returned to form, MGMT surprised and is this years innovative answer to what Enter Shikari did last year for me. Mystery Jets put a smile back on everyone's faces. Pendulum were fun, Guillemots disappointed by creating a very off-their-track album but wasn't TOO bad I guess. Further down, Coldplay changed but solidly (is that a word?), another band to disappoint me this week especially were Sigur Rós, who chose to bring in a producer on album number 5 and changed everything (incuding dropping the bands signature reverb sound). Lightspeed Champion started off the year with what I thought to be one of the best albums, until everything else came along. Even Feeder made their best album since Echo Park!

Now, Top 35 tracks of the year (cos I couldn't wittle it down to 20)?

35: We Are Scientists - Ghouls
34: Sigur Rós - Vid Spilum Endalaust
33: Pendulum - Mutiny
32: We Are Scientists - Lethal Enforcer
31: Portishead - Machine Gun
30: The Young Knives - Up All Night
29: Crystal Castles - Xxzxcuzx Me
28: The Last Shadow Puppets - In My Room
27: Does It Offend You, Yeah? - We Are Rockstars
26: Be Your Own Pet - Super Soaked
25: We Are Scientists - After Hours
24: The Kooks - Always Where I Need To Be
23: Sigur Rós - Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur
22: Mystery Jets - Hideaway
21: N.E.R.D - Anti Matter
20: Guillemots - Clarion
19: Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly - Waiting For The Monster To Drown
18: The Futureheads - Everything's Changing Today
17: Lightspeed Champion - Midnight Surprise
16: MGMT - Kids
15: MGMT - Time To Pretend
14: Late Of The Pier - The Bears Are Coming
13: Flight Of The Conchords - Foux Da Fafa
12: The Raconteurs - Consoler Of The Lonely
11: We Are Scientists - That's What Counts
10: Boy Kill Boy - Rosie's On Fire
9: Pendulum - Showdown
8: Late Of The Pier - Focker
7: The Subways - Girls And Boys
6: The Futureheads - Sale Of The Century
5: Coldplay - Violet Hill
4: Boy Kill Boy - Promises
3: Pendulum - Propane Nightmares
2: Mystery Jets - Two Doors Down
1: We Are Scientists - Chick Lit

Two songs owned this half of the year so far - We Are Scientists continued their streak of great consistant track and pulled Chick Lit out of the bag, and Mystery Jets made the upbeat wonder that put the cherry on the top of Twenty One. Late Of The Pier made two of the best dance-indie-trip-over-hop ever, Pendulum changed, but it worked, Coldplay's beautiful Violet Hill has some of Martin's best lyrics since Parachutes, and The Subways went where even they hadn't expected to go until 'the split' - darker. And you really do need to applaud The Kooks - that track was brillllliant!

Best TV Shows this year (mostly comedy):

8: Family Guy
7: Gordon Ramsay's F Word
6: Have I Got News For You
5: Gavin And Stacey
4: Top Gear
3: The Inbetweeners
2: Peep Show
1: The Office: And American Workplace

Gotta love the awkward comedy :)

So That's it. Oh best film? I dunno, what's been funny this year?

Can't honestly remember :/

much love xx

Freeplay

Coldplay - Viva La Vida (Or Death And All His Friends)

Brilliant album.

http://www.myspace.com/387267497

That's just about all I can say. Come Thursday, whether you're preparing for the festival, or you're just doing not much at all, make time in your day and buy this album. It's better than Parachutes. It's better than A Rush Of Blood To The Head. It felt right, but I'm not sure what on. Let's go with music!

So I was watching BBC Sound on Saturday with Late Of The Pier. As you may or may not know, I went to see them in February, and they were pretty amazing, perhaps as far as saying best indoor gig since Klaxons came home to Portsmouth last year. Anyway they were mental in Southampton, it was all mental, but when I was watching BBC Sound they did a performance of half of most recent AA side single Focker. This was all very well, until at the start of the bridge, lead singer Sam started to microwave a drumstick.

You can see where this is going. What, you can't!?!?!

Ok, he took it out after about 30 seconds, picked it up and looked in pain as he gripped it, but played the crash cymbal of the drum kit with it during the breakdown at the end of the song. Gripping stuff, I'm sure, but half funny and half interesting. The funniest bit is that they wired up a microphone to the microwave so that you could get the finishing 'ding' sound in Dolby 5.1.

Possibly the best performance for TV I've seen, aside when Muse didn Feeling Good for Spanish lunchtime TV.

LOTP - Focker on Sound is now available for 5 more days! iPlayer...

Muse - Feeling Good on TVE 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKHEhPyyAlo

On other terms, not much is happening. Why blog then? Who knows, lets ask ourselves that every morning before we go back to bed.

Oh and I'm songwriting again, if there's ever a band who needed that sort of stuff.

xx

National Tesco Day

Tomorrow.
2:00pm.
National Tesco Day.

Basically, it all started Monday last week, when me and Dave were in Tesco looking around and then we thought, "if we had £10 for a Tesco night in, what would we spend it on?"

Then came the birth: Tuesday 20th May - 1st National Tesco Day!

So we have initally £10, with added money if essentially needed (aka a fine spread of cheeeese) (Not cheese spread, a good selection of cheeeeeeeeses) to buy a days worth of snacks, crisps, chocolate, pizza, pasta, posta etc. This was initially designed upon the idea that if you could go on a shopping spree at Tesco, what would you buy? This is our planned shopping spree, with only £10+ tho.

Our initial list on a quick draft was:

2 Pizzas, Pepperoni: £3.00

4 litres of Coca-Cola: £2.60

2 tubs of Rice Infusions Pringles: £1.48

2 packets of chocolate buttons: £1.80

1 Bloomer loaf of bread: £0.67

Tesco value sunflower spread (not butter =[): £0.29

3 Pork luncheon slices: £0.15

TOTAL: £9.99

Dave goes to College tomorrow, I'll watch what remains of my The Office: An American Workplace Series 2 DVD, BUT AT 2pm, it's so on.

Apologies to African kids in factories for Tesco or whatnot, I'm not condoning this, but in celebration of the new store, annual Tesco Day is now May 20th.

Much love across the board, alongside this there will be CAKE! and LEMONADE!!!!

xx

Propane Nightmares (No pun intended)

Part 1 of this blog: So this week the new Pendulum album In Silico is released, and even though there's now voices on it, it sound pretty damn good!

Part 2 of this blog: My nightmare involving fire last night...

I was sitting down, on the train on the way home, get back to brading with Jon and Brading's houses are on fire. What's worse is that there's a huge monolithic DAVE throwing houses at me, Jon, and this girl in my Drama class called Megan. Dunno why she was in teh dream, I never speak to her... strange...

...anyway! I got back to my house to find that some sort of eternal world war was going on and Dave was at the centre of all the chaos. I then realise that I left my bag at school so for some reason I go to ISLE OF WIGHT COLLEGE and find it there. Strange? Why yes, and when I come back Jon's eating a Cornetto whilst watching PENDULUM's video for Propane Nightmares.
Propane Nightmare? Quite...

I'm at school, waiting for the train so I can see Rach and Diane on there, plus it's ARTEM'S LAST DAY. NOOOOO! NOT ARTEM!

He's off to Australia, we lose the best of them we do :(

Plus, I was just in the social area and girl who I might the tinyest tinyest tinyest of crushes on turns around and asks me if I ahve any of The Prodigy's albums, so I gave her my MSN and said I'd send some to her!

It's a good life for now :)

Lets go home and find out if the internet is still working!

xx

Scientists and Other Adventures...

OK, so there isn't a good vid yet of Textbook singing, so here's a crap one!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYj7b7Yr3ic

Meanwhile, other good stuff:
Mystery Jets - Two Doors Down
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2Dl3VQ2K2U

The Memorable German Fork Lift Training Video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm4Q4vWy_ck

Michael McIntyre - Live at the Apollo!
Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Es2l4yUBY6M
Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLPyPJTwEC4&feature=related
Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YsJ186p17U&feature=related

Oh, and www.sickipedia.org - Got no morals? The crowd, including I, was going nuts to see that they opened with 'Ghouls' - the perfect opener for the tour.

As the gig went on, they pulled out album tracks, such as This Scene Is Dead, the big hits such as Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt and future singles Chick Lit and Lousy Reputation. They wiped the board with all these newcomer bands trying to take their place as the kings of pure-indie-that-makes-you-dance-whilst-emotional.

10 songs in, they played Textbook - The Cure-influenced quiet track of With Love And Squalor. As I type this, it comes on my iPod. Keith went all Frank Sinatra on our asses, by going down to the crowd, in particular just to the left of me by one person, whilst I was second row. He looked at me whilst I sang along to the first verse, and just as the chorus started, pulled me forward and shared the mic with me, as we sung the chorus together!

"Having every question answered, is it gonna help at all..."

Wicked, eh?

Not quite. Even tho this was a stunning moment for both me and me, I was screaming the words to be loud, badly I add to that, and out of tune. It didn't sound good, my deepest apologies to Southampton. But me and Keith had a smile on our faces, and thats what mattered.

I'll get back to you later with the setlist and hopefully, if someone has uploaded any, a Youtube clip of THAT moment.

Much love, assembly time:( xx

Bring It On Al Gore...

Seeing as everyone's getting overly obsessive over 'Earth Hour' (A whole hour living in the dark to use up as little energy as possible) I thought I might as well give my input by, err, going on the computer.

To be perfectly honest, I saw An Inconvienient Truth, and sat through most of Live Earth, and what's it made me think about? I know, next time we'll all hold our breaths for an hour whilst everyone in the room farts, and we'll call it 'Sanitation Hour'.

Champion!
x

Bleh

Bleh

A Samba in the Snowy Rain

I'm ever falling for the Guillemots at the moment. I'm at school, and my dumb iPod won't let me listen to their new album Red, so I'm listening to Through The Windowpane for the bazillionth time this week. Everytime I hear it I fall in love with them more, because the album is so beautiful. I know, be manly etc. But aside Sigur Ros, Guillemots are my guilty pleasure.

It's not even a guilty pleasure, it's one of the greatest albums of all time. Love them or hate them, they're geniuses.

"And I think about how long it will take them to blow us away, but I won't get me down, I'm just thankful to be facing the day...

...Cos days don't get you far when you're gone"

Guillemots - Trains To Brazil.

Much love xx

The return

I've renamed the blog.

It was needed, and it's gonna have a total revamp.

Welcome to the start. To sum it up quickly:

Christmas came so did iPod then it left (christmas not iPod) Extras was funny now reading Hammong get back to school get bored at school get depressed at school eat dad gets divorce after 3 years oh, and I'm back to now.

Today was the most damned depressing day of my school life, so I came home to "rest" instead watching The Office. Funny, yet not much changed.

So where am I now? Who knows, I'm halfway between the gutter and the stars I guess, except I'm closer the gutter and it's not looking like I have much chance of rising any time soon. I dunno if I'm going one place or another, I dunno why I'm here, what I do whilst I'm here or what I say to who whilst I am here. Ah the Flaming Lips put it best "I dunno where the sun beams in or where the starlight begins, it's all just a mystery." He's right. Feck it, I'm not happy, and truly I might not be until I'm over it. I thought I was, then today I thought again that I may never be over it.

And Robbie Williams' 'She's The One' has just started on iTunes.

Life: just one full stop away from the end of the sentance.

x

Tooooooo long.

Christmas is here! Woo. hoo. Hmm christmas really does suck this year, I dunno how even. Ok, i guess it's been a looooooong year, tho it's gone so quickly. Just about everything which hasn't been too major has been thrown at me in every form, and I guess, as Radiohead once said, I did it to myself, I did.

And that's what really hurt.

Ok, so what really happened which was pro in 2007?

Met cooool new people, like, err, erm, ooh, who? Oh Kath etc. Tia, Jamie...nope thats it.

Saw not only Snow Patrol, Kasabian, Wolfmother and The Feeling at the festival, I also saw Ash TWICE and saw my heroes from the front row: M.U.S.E.

Met Patrick Wolf, Boy Kill Boy and, in strange circumstances, Tiff Needel.

Started Sixthform! Bye bye being ruled by school. Hello Chess champions and freetime (remember that thing, free time?)

I spent most of the year with my best friends. End.

I won't bore you with a list of what went wrong. Plus I'll offend SOMEBODY, I'm bound to...

But in 2008 I'll see the Kaisers, Gallows and N.E.R.D, I'll continue with sixth form and continue to breathe. What else do you want from me?

Oh, and come christmas 2008, yes, I'll probably be back here saying stuff like "Who would have thought I'd get married this year to a Polar Bear!" or "Funny how I'm not moving anywhere".

Watch this space. Have a great christmas if I don't write again. It has done too many times for me, but tomorrow's kind of a weird day for me. Ok, today it's Wednesday the 7th of November. Almost a week until I turn 17 (woohoo!) but, like, I dunno, the 8th has always been special to me.

This time last year I didn't have half the problems as I would do tomorrow's time last year (if that makes any sense at all). This time last year I was confused, listening to Muse every waking second (Not much changes) and thinking about where I'm gonna go in life. Obviously I wanted to be a journalist, but where else would life take me. 364 days and a few hours later I know one alley of my life which has been cut off, and I hope it returns elsewhere, but now I'm in doubt.

Only a month ago I thought for the billionth time that it was all coming together, but nothing happened.

I've been amazed by how magical and outstanding Sigur Rós are recently, and there's one song called Sæglópur, off 2005's Takk album, and it's a song which makes me feel a certain kind of emotion everytime, like Muse's Showbiz did last year, but this is magical. Even though it's spoken in a gibberish Vonlenska language, it means so much, and it says everything I've wanted to say for a year in just 7:39 minutes.

Maybe things never change. Despite my happy tone, I am thus disappointed. Ok, so yesterday we pretty much fecked up in the rugby, but come on - what a chance Lewis had here, to blow it in the first few corners. Ok, he was down, he could fight back, but communication quite literally broke down between him and his car, yet he fought back, and to come in 7th is still an achievement in my book, even if it's minus a world championship.

There are some key up-points from this:

1) Lewis CAN fight his way back in Formula One given a good amount of time.
2) Kimi deserved to be world champion one day. I'm happy it's today.
3) He smiled! He ACTUALLY smiled!
4) Because he had 1 more 4th than Alonso, He beat the Spanish cheating twat!
5) No-one in Brazil can count what number is after '1'.
6) No Pele!

Ok, pro's done. Now for the negatives...

1) Lewis didn't get the recordbreaker, so second place is a kinda low-blow.
2) Alonso finished on the podium. Unhappy times.
3) Never become Nakajima's Valet.

World championship over.
